juvenile delinquent

In Oklahoma, a juvenile is defined as any person under 18 years of age. A juvenile can be charged with almost any crime that an adult can be charged with. The only difference is how the juvenile is treated when it comes to punishment. Under the juvenile system, instead of punishing the juvenile the goal is the rehabilitate or help the juvenile so that they don’t commit any more crimes.

Most juveniles that commit a crime are charged as a juvenile. Sometimes, depending on the age of juvenile and the crime that was committed, the juvenile can be charged as a Youthful Offender or even an Adult.
